Oh Crud: The Card and Dice Game.
Oh Crud is a trick-taking card game (mostly). The first 5 rounds are trick-taking rounds. The last round is a sequential card-stacking round. The objective for each round is different because you roll the dice before each round which can determine several things, such as:
- What Crud Is (rounds 1-3)
- The Power Suit (rounds 4-5)
- The Starting Number (round 6)
What is trick-taking style of game play? In trick-taking games, each player takes a turn playing a single card. The highest card (or most powerful card) takes the trick, which means that player gathers up all the cards played during that trick and keeps them in a stack in front of them. At the end of the round, you count up all the points you have taken (Crud), and record each player's score.
In Oh Crud, you try not to get points (Crud) because the player with the lowest score at the end of the game wins!
Overall Objective:
is to avoid getting any CRUD and get the lowest score. When you get CRUD, you get points and you don't want any points because the person with the lowest score at the end of the game wins!
